Excited to see old friends, re-tell old tales, and celebrate the very essence of why we are <em>The Motor City<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p>The cars! The ones we owned, dreamed of, restored or in the case of my friend of 55 years, Bob Karakashian, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allpar.com\/mopar\/440.html\"><strong>&#8217;69 1\/2 Dodge Six-Pack<\/strong><\/a> he bought at 19 and never sold!<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s an emotional, almost spiritual, tie to these cars, and while we&#8217;re spotlighting the great Keener generation muscle cars; those same feelings can be stirred at the sighting of a chopped and channeled &#8217;41 Willys, a &#8217;59 Cadillac, or yes, a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=e6DrMkLNYKw\"><strong>Little Deuce Coupe<\/strong><\/a>&#8220;!<\/p>\n<p>So here we go, five favorites (actually 4 more) that always turn your head, and make you wish it was yours!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/1969Boss302_lf_01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-2136\" src=\"https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/1969Boss302_lf_01-300x157.jpg\" alt=\"1969Boss302_lf_01\" width=\"312\" height=\"163\" srcset=\"https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/1969Boss302_lf_01-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/1969Boss302_lf_01-150x78.jpg 150w, https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/1969Boss302_lf_01.jpg 448w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 312px) 100vw, 312px\" \/><\/a>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/reviews\/1969-ford-mustang-boss-302-review\">Boss 302 Mustang<\/a><\/strong>. Sure, the original Mustang invented a category, captivated millions and inspired The D&#8217;s Sir Mack Rice to write &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kXjwmCOJ4KM\"><strong>Mustang Sally<\/strong><\/a>&#8220;. <em>And<\/em> a fave of Keener&#8217;s Scott Westerman.<\/p>\n<p>But ask a Ford guy or gal, they&#8217;ll tell ya, you can&#8217;t beat The Boss! Inspired by the great &#8220;Royal Bobcats&#8221; of <a href=\"http:\/\/myclassicgarage.com\/social\/posts\/15825-legends-ace-wilson-s-royal-pontiac-dealership\"><strong>Ace Wilson&#8217;s Royal Pontiac<\/strong><\/a>. Inspiration for one of the great garage band car tunes of all-time, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=o_FSicQWimU\"><strong>Little G.T.O<\/strong><\/a>.&#8221;. In Lynn&#8217;s words, &#8220;<em><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;\">My cousin got one right after he got out of the Navy. Canary yellow, with black vinyl top. Car absolutely smoldered<\/span><\/span><\/em>&#8220;.\u00a0 Hidden headlights, full fastback. The &#8220;squarish&#8221; Chevelle look was long gone. Front fenders flowing to the kicked up rear, merging with the semi-fastback roofline. Cool wheels mounted on BF Goodrich T\/A&#8217;s.
