And so it is with the news of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/11\/11\/arts\/music\/allen-toussaint-dies.html?_r=1\">Allen Toussaint&#8217;s death<\/a><\/strong> in Spain on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/allentoussaint.com\/\"><strong>Mr. Toussaint<\/strong><\/a>, a member of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/rockhall.com\/inductees\/allen-toussaint\/\">Rock and Roll Hall of Fame<\/a><\/strong>, was 77.<\/p>\n<p>His career in music<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was legendary, and in a city of musical giants, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Louis_Armstrong\">Louis Armstrong<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Professor_Longhair\">Professor Longhair<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fats_Domino\">Fat Domino<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dave_Bartholomew\">Dave Bartholmew<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Neville_Brothers\">Neville Bros.<\/a><\/strong>, to name a few; Mr. Toussaint <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/allen-toussaint-mn0000933172\">career and contributions<\/a><\/strong> stand second to none.<\/p>\n<p>We at Keener13.com mourn the passing of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Allen_Toussaint\">Allen Toussaint<\/a><\/strong>, and celebrate his life with a Top 5 overview of his\u00a0music. Doe - Mother-In-Law - The Year 1961 (480p)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dcFkUHvlf5A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by his\u00a0childhood memories of nights in Louisiana, Mr. Toussaint&#8217;s &#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Southern_Nights_(song)\">Southern Nights<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; resonated with Glen Campbell, who hit # 1 on three different charts in 1977.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2zJBVdQd8iA\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2zJBVdQd8iA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another smash from The Big Easy, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lee_Dorsey\">Lee Dorsey<\/a><\/strong> was Top 10 in 1966, with another song written and produced by Allen Toussaint.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IsZT-Gj7QNI\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IsZT-Gj7QNI<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And, you save (one of) the best of the best for last. This\u00a0one we remember (more) from driving with our Dads, listening to &#8220;their&#8221; stations.
