It stays on the air for three years until their divorce got in the way. The duo would reunite in 1976 for a two year stint hosting the identically formatted The Sonny &amp; Cher Show, proving &#8220;The Beat Goes On&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight in 1979 the wildly popular CBS show, &#8220;Dallas&#8221;, spins off another prime time soap opera: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Knots_Landing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Knots Landing<\/strong><\/a>&#8220;. It will become longest-running primetime drama on U.S. TV after <strong>Gunsmoke<\/strong> and <strong>Bonanz<\/strong>a.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-144\" src=\"https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/CarrieFisherAndDebbieReyonlds-300x158.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" \/>Missing <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carrie_Fisher\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Carrie Fisher<\/strong><\/a> today. Carrie&#8217;s autobiographical &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Unknown-The-Princess-Diarist\/dp\/B01AAXYD54\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Princess Diarist<\/a>&#8221; is a great listen on Audible. She narrates the book herself, adding a dimension of authenticity and honesty that is at once candidly funny and heartbreaking.
