The song was written and composed by\u00a0<a title=\"Richard Berry (musician)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_Berry_(musician)\">Richard Berry<\/a>\u00a0in 1955 and first recorded by his group The Pharaohs. The Kingsmen made it their own 9 years later. It&#8217;s a recording that became one of the most controversial tunes of its time, ultimately the subject of a two year investigation by the FBI.\u00a0\u00a0What was lead singer <strong><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jack_Ely\">Jack Ely<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0really saying in those hard to understand lyrics? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/culture\/cultural-comment\/jack-ely-louie-louie-the-dirtiest-song-of-the-sixties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This cool New Yorker\u00a0piece<\/a> from 2015 explains<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Screen-Shot-2019-01-11-at-8.41.47-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-383 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/keener13.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Screen-Shot-2019-01-11-at-8.41.47-AM-300x183.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"164\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>Many of us have traversed the iconic <strong>Tappan Zee Bridge<\/strong>. The span that bisects the Hudson River was completed in 1955. But she will be most remembered for her iconic performance as Marion Wormer, Dean Vernon Wormer&#8217;s sex starved wife in the film &#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Animal_House\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Lampoon&#8217;s Animal House<\/a><\/strong>&#8220;. <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2019\/film\/news\/verna-bloom-dead-dies-animal-house-1203104909\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Verna Bloom passed away<\/a> on January 9th at age 80. Perhaps as repentance for her tryst with <strong><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tim_Matheson\">Tim Matheson<\/a><\/strong>,&#8217;s &#8220;Otter&#8221;, Her final film appearance was as the mother of Jesus in the 1988 film &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Last_Temptation_of_Christ_(film)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Last Temptation of Christ<\/a>&#8220;.\u00a0We imagine her entering the pearly gates, saying, \u201cCut the crap.
