The Beatles&#8217; film\u00a0<i><a title=\"A Hard Day's Night (film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A_Hard_Day%27s_Night_(film)\">A Hard Day&#8217;s Night<\/a><\/i>\u00a0inspired Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider to create the program.\u00a0437 applicants auditioned for 4 roles, ending up with\u00a0\u00a0<strong><a title=\"Micky Dolenz\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Micky_Dolenz\">Micky Dolenz<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a title=\"Michael Nesmith\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mITHciY-Kjg\">Michael Nesmith<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<a title=\"Peter Tork\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peter_Tork\"><strong>Peter Tork<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a title=\"Davy Jones (musician)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Davy_Jones_(musician)\">Davy Jones<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<strong><a title=\"Don Kirshner\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Don_Kirshner\">Don Kirshner<\/a><\/strong>, produced the early sessions with help \u00a0from the songwriting duo,\u00a0<a title=\"Boyce and Hart\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boyce_and_Hart\"><strong>Tommy Boyce<\/strong> and <strong>Bobby Hart<\/strong><\/a>. who plumbed the best of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mITHciY-Kjg\">Brill Building<\/a><\/strong> talent to come up with hit records for the group to record. \u00a0The show ran from\u00a0September 12, 1966 to March 25, 1968, winning\u00a0two\u00a0<a title=\"Emmy Award\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emmy_Award\">Emmy Awards<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/19th_Primetime_Emmy_Awards\">1967.<\/a>\u00a0The music segments are said to have inspired the progenitors of <strong>MTV<\/strong>, which, once upon a time, played music videos.
