We hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving and are now gritting your teeth and sharpening your elbows for the great Christmas battle.

Obviously, Barbara Collins didn't heed the warning printed in last week's paper about the rum flavored turkey legs. Friday she started a new shoe fashion - wearing one blue leather shoe and one black patent leather shoe. She has another pair just like them at home - it's known as an interchangeable set!

Thanksgiving Day WKNR broadcast messages from servicemen overseas to their families in the Detroit area. Two or three times each hour, specially taped greetings from the servicemen (done on location!) from allover the world, including Viet Nam, were broadcast. On the previous Monday, WKNR sent special delivery letters to each of the families advising them of these broadcasts. Upon request., WKNR then made extra copies of the tapes and sent them to the families. 38 families in all were involved.

On Monday, November 20, WKNR received a plaque from the United States Air Force "In recognition of outstanding public service to the recruiting program . " Only seven of these plaques have been presented in the last three years in the state of Michigan. Presenters were Lt. Col. Stephens and Captain Tranz of the Air Force.

Our Sales Manager, Jack Davidson, has been invited to be guest speaker at the fall banquet of the professional advertising fraternity Alpha Delta Sigma at Ferris State College, Saturday, December 2. At the same time, he will be initiated into the fraternity as a professional member.

Wednesday, November 22, was KeeNeR Day at the Detroit Auto Show and Scott Regen and Jerry Goodwin MC'd two special pop music shows. Every seat was occupied, with standees 10 deep behind the seats. WKNR expected the show with The Association and Spanky and Our Gang that evening to be successful but that proved to be the underestimation of the year as about 8000 turned out at Cobo Arena, and the groups endeared themselves to their fans with their several encores.

Please get your reservation form for the Christmas Party back to this office as quickly as possible so we can make our plans accordingly.
