INSIDE KEENER

Vol.2 No.48 Dec.11, 1968 Grace Potts, Editor

INSIDE KEENER seems to be a continuing hospital report. Rich Pawlowicz recently waged a successful battle with the flu bug, scheduling it so that he missed only one day - he got better on his own time over the weekend.

Dan Henderson is back in the fold after undergoing hernia surgery. We wonder if the thought of being on our closed circuit TV to the Auto Show at Cobo hurried the recovery? Anyway, glad you're back, Dan.

Carole Wiedeman is off today with the flu and since this is also her birthday, we had planned to give her a big

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MRS. NEEDLEMAN but that will now have to wait a day or two.

DON'T FORGET - THE KEENER CHRISTMAS PARTY IS THIS COMING SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT THE DEARBORN INN AT 2:30 - SEE YOU THERE.

Barbara Collins' husband Don has enlisted in the SeaBees and will be leaving on December 27. If you know a nice business girl who would like to share an apartment, Barbara would be interested in knowing about her.

Starting Monday, December 16, WKNR will be playing Christmas records as part of its programming.

Carole Wiedeman's Christmas will be brightened considerably when son Jim arrives home on leave from California on the 22nd.

On December 28 the Harlem Globetrotters will be at, Olympia playing the Washington Generals. As an additional part of the entertainment, KeeNeR DJ's will again play an exhibition game with them. "Big V" (former KeeNeRite Vaughan Tafralian) has been invited by the Globetrotters to make another appearance with them, dressed in the same "New Year's Eve Baby" costume which was such a hit last year.

Visitor to the station: Today, the recording and television artist Bobby Darin.

KeeNeR ingenuity came to the front again last Friday when Paul Cannon invited Mrs. Knorr to his office to listen to the lyrics of an interesting record. They turned out to be "Happy Birthday" from the whole gang - plus a huge Birthday cake.

PROJECT DETROIT Subject for Sunday, December 15, 1968 is "Highways to the Future" - J. N. Bauman, Chairman of the National Highway Users Conference, discussing the needs of America in relation to highway transportation.
