The feeling of Christmas is in the air and the offices look it, too, ever since our decorations were put up, inside and out. Your editor got into the swing of things also by tramping thru acres of trees last Sunday, picking out THE ONE, and then cutting it down.

Our lobby is loaded with Christmas presents brought in by listeners to our FM. Russ Gibb recently made an appeal for new or used toys and clothing that were no lor!er wanted by their owners. The excellent response will make it possible for a few more needy youngsters to have a nicer holiday.

The holiday season will be a little uncomfortable, however, for Diane Wiedeman. Last Friday she slipped and fell in the school parking lot and broke her arm. On the brighter side, the family is expecting their son Jim home for a Christmas furlough before departing in January for England.

Tom Neal and Gary Granger, Keener's "talking team" spoke before the 10th Grade English Class of North Farmington High School on Thursday, December 11.

Mrs. Knorr was treated to dinner last Friday night by all the Keener gals at the Dearborn Inn and presented with a gift as a going-away present.

Ron Sherwood was a substitute audio engineer on Channel 38's recent broadcast of the Red Wing - Bruin game to Boston. He must have done a good job as he was hired to do all the future Bruin games played here.

Visitors to the Station: 7 University of Detroit students who are members of a mass communications class and the university radio station on Tuesday, December 16, and 7 cub scouts from St. Clements School in Dearborn on the same day.

FM programming for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be a little unusual. Dickens' "Christmas Carol" will be presented with members of the staff participating, as well as newspaper feature writers Sharon Cassidy of the Detroit News and Mike Gormley of the Free Press. Incidentally, Russ Gibb will be playing Scrooge and Al Morgan will be the First Spirit. Also, there will be a repeat of the original works performed last year which included poetry, prose and production numbers, Jerry Goodwin reading "Barrington's Bunny" which was written by a former FM disc jockey Martin Bell, and some taped telephone comments by listeners on "What is Christmas?"

Don't forget the Christmas Party at Chamberlin's in the Holiday Inn next Wednesday at 12:00 Noon.

Due to the fact that our regular publishing day conflicts with the holiday season, there will be no issue of INSIDE KEENER next week.

PROJECT DETROIT Subject for Sunday, December 21, 1969, is "High on Reality" - featuring three former drug users, residents of the Detroit area, discussing how they became addicted and their Successful attempts to "kick the habit."
