At a general staff meeting held Tuesday, January 13, Mr. Patrick, Mr. Palmer and Mr. Giannetti made the following announcements:

Mr. Patterson has submitted his resignation to pursue other interests after staying with the station as he agreed to do through the lengthy period before the sale was finalized. A letter from the new owners in appreciation of his dedicated service has been sent to him. Frank Maruca is Acting General Manager. Paul Cannon has left to devote his energies to full time pursuit of a construction permit for a radio station in Peoria. His replacement will be announced at a later date. Mr. Pat Norman, formerly with the New York office of our national reps, Metro Radio Sales, is our new General Sales Manager. Jack Davidson has been assigned to another management position in Sales. Harry Walker has been promoted to Local Sales Manager. John Small has been appointed Station Manager of WKNR-FM.

Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Mitchell (Ann Mitchell of Accounting) announce the engagement of their daughter Debbie. The wedding is planned for the early part of September.

Visitors to the station: Friday, January 9, approximately 20 girl scouts from Divine Child school in Dearborn.

Barbara Williams recently proved she is more than a housewife and secretary. The garbage disposal in her kitchen sink needed replacing - so she did it! Don't ask her to do yours, though, as the "4 easy steps" for installation took about three hours.

The Bryant Junior High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association is holding a panel-discussion meeting on Thursday, January 15 on the Subject "Can we bridge the generation gap" and our Mark Allen will be the moderator .o

Jerry Martin continues his interest in scouting and during the weekend of January 24, as a member of the Down River District Scouts, he will be participating in a "Klondike." In this winter activity, scouts will be put through their paces at Elizabeth Park in Trenton testing their knowledge of ice rescue procedures, taking part in sled and snow shoe races, and other related tests.
